Having dentures that fit well and feel comfortable is essential. When something is off, you can experience sores and may not be able to eat or speak properly.
Dropping your dentures, having broken teeth, or even feeling changes in them over time can all indicate that it is time to bring them into Frederick Family Dentistry so that we can make the necessary adjustments to keep you looking and feeling your best.
Dr. Babak Ganjavian can perform most denture relines right here in our Frederick, Maryland dental office for your convenience. Relines become necessary when your denture no longer fits comfortably, you have denture sores, your body is going through changes, or when your dentures move around too much.
We do several types of relines at Frederick Family Dentistry:
Hard relines – We take away the internal structure of your denture and create a new hard interior that we cure with a special light. This allows us to change the internal structure of your denture permanently without the need for a replacement denture. Often times, we can have these ready the same day because we know how important it is for you to have your teeth.
Temporary soft relines – These types of relines are useful when your body is going through changes such as weight loss, bone loss, or recovery from an extraction. These relines are designed to last about three months while the changes last. Then, a permanent reline will become necessary.
Permanent soft relines – Permanent soft relines provide a permanent solution to dentures that cause sores or no longer fit properly. Soft relines require special care and can deteriorate or stain if not cared for properly. We will go over care instructions while you are in the office.
If you drop, break, or lose a tooth in your denture, give us a call right away. We can perform many repairs here in our office so that you do not need to go very long without your teeth. We understand how important it is for you to have them. We will quickly and carefully work to provide you with comfortable, long-lasting results.
Your body is constantly changing. As these changes occur, you may require an adjustment to your partial denture. Bone loss, shifting teeth, and damage to your partial can all result in its inability to fit properly. Instead of wearing an uncomfortable partial or leaving it out for an extended period of time, contact our office, and we can evaluate it for you.
Call Frederick Family Dentistry at (301) 695-1234 to schedule an evaluation on your current denture today. We can evaluate it and let you know if a repair or a new denture is your best treatment option. Our goal is to help you feel comfortable again!
